MEET SUMMER: Hi my name is Summer Edmondson. I am 14 years old and I live in Blackburn, Lancashire. I started dance when I was 5 years old, doing Latin and ballroom and freestyle disco dance. Freestyle dance led me to discover my love for acro, flips and tricks. During lockdown I discovered a new passion for contortion and especially hand-balancing. I now train with pixie Le Knot and Mclaren Dance Company. 

WHAT'S IN YOUR DANCE BAG: Chalk!! To help me grip on my handstand canes, Bobby pins of course and twirl chocolate bars. 

FAVE ACRO MOVE: Definitely the back tuck. I found this so challenging but I have worked very hard to perfect this still and I now back tuck everywhere and anywhere. 

WHO IS YOUR HERO: This is a tough one because there so many people who have helped me on my journey but if I had to pick one person it would be my contortion teacher, Pixie Le knot. Pixie has pushed me to be my best, inspired me so much and she is so patient and always so supportive.

ON MY REST DAY: I can’t rest, I feel like that’s impossible for me. I do handstands drills everyday because being the “right way around” is boring.
